The event featured a communal meal, a showcase of 21 women who served in Italy’s Constituent Assembly, and testimony from former partisan Maria Cavatassi Santiloni linking the wartime resistance to later fights for workers’ rights and democratic foundations. Organisers stressed the need to keep the antifascist legacy alive in the face of contemporary political rhetoric. In Saluzzo, a similar “Pastasciutta antifascista” dinner on 28 July drew over 200 locals, reinforcing democratic memory through shared pasta and music. The gathering, noted alongside broader cultural initiatives promoting rural heritage, underscored the continued resonance of the anti‑fascist pasta tradition across Italy’s smaller communities. These events link contemporary civic engagement with historic resistance, extending the anti‑fascist culinary commemoration throughout Italy and to the Dominican Republic.
