The dispute has prompted coordinated action between the Italian government and regional leaders. Minister Adolfo Urso has held video conferences with several regional presidents to establish a unified strategy to protect production sites. Meanwhile, the Italian government is promoting a ‘non-paper’ to the European Commission to seek urgent measures for the European home appliance sector. Labor tensions also persist at the Beko plant in Melano, where workers continue to protest a lack of industrial and employment guarantees.
