Overview

The pediatric ward at the Grande ospedale metropolitano Bianchi-Melacrino-Morelli in Reggio Calabria has undergone a visual redesign intended to improve the psychological and emotional well-being of children and their families.

Supported by the Reale Foundation, the project utilized the Turin-based studio Truly Design to implement forest-themed illustrations, such as foxes, owls, and badgers. The redesign includes an interactive “find all our little friends” element to transform the clinical space into a more welcoming setting. Virginia Antonini of the Reale Foundation noted that such collaborations between public and private sectors are “essential for generating lasting value and creating environments that are more serene and child-friendly.”
