Italian spritz and limoncello expansion

In late July 2026 Italian beverage makers intensified efforts to broaden the appeal of their signature drinks. On 30 July, Campari Group announced a push into the United States, leveraging the popularity of its Aperol‑based spritz and introducing a new Villa Massa Spritz that combines limoncello, Prosecco, soda and fresh lemon. The launch, timed for 1 August, aims to shift limoncello from a digestif to a core aperitif ingredient and to grow Campari’s U.S. sales.

The following day, Rome‑based distillery Pallini unveiled Limonzero, a non‑alcoholic limoncello, alongside other agave‑based spirits, and promoted a series of summer cocktail recipes that highlight citrus flavors. The brand also highlighted a lemon‑infused tiramisu as a lighter dessert option for warm‑weather gatherings. Together, the two updates illustrate a broader trend among Italian producers to diversify product lines, cater to health‑conscious consumers, and extend the reach of traditional Italian cocktail culture both domestically and abroad.
