Italian universities launch new online programs

Overview

In late July 2026, the University of Parma announced an expansion of its digital learning portfolio, releasing EDUNEXT video previews for four blended‑learning courses and opening enrollment for a fully online Master in Scientific Communication. The master, limited to 70 participants, offers 60 credits over 30 weeks and focuses on AI, climate change, data journalism, fact‑checking and disinformation, with applications closing on 5 October 2026.

Two days later, the same master was highlighted again, and additional announcements detailed new inter‑university degree programmes in Primary Education Sciences approved for the University of Calabria and the University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro. These teacher‑training programmes aim to increase regional capacity, adding roughly 400 seats for future educators and strengthening university‑school links across southern Italy.
