Construction of the Jakarta LRT Velodrome-Manggarai route has reached near-total completion, with the 12.2-kilometer line featuring 11 stations now finished. Following the completion of operational and service trials as of September 10, 2026, the project moved from the evaluation phase to official service. On September 16, 2026, President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route during a ceremony at Manggarai Station. He described the development as a gradual process toward a modern urban mobility system. This expansion builds upon the existing Kelapa Gading–Velodrome corridor that has been operational since 2019. The elevated line represents an investment of Rp12.1 trillion, funded by the Jakarta provincial budget, and provides a travel time of approximately 28 minutes between the two points with an 11-minute train headway. To mark the opening, a public trial period with a promotional fare of Rp8 was conducted until September 23, 2026. Following this period, the fare for the Kelapa Gading–Manggarai route was set at Rp5,000 per trip as of September 24, 2026. PT LRT Jakarta reported a 166 percent increase in daily average passengers following the inauguration, handling approximately 91,000 total passengers between September 16 and September 23. Despite the fare adjustment, operational patterns remain unchanged, with two trainsets running at approximately 15-minute intervals. Service hours on the Kelapa Gading–Manggarai route are 05:30 to 20:00 WIB, while the Kelapa Gading–Velodrome route continues until 23:00 WIB. Looking toward future expansion, Governor Pramono Anung announced that construction for the 2.1-kilometer Manggarai to Dukuh Atas LRT line is scheduled to begin in January 2027. As of late September 2026, the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route continues to see an increase in daily passengers.
