Jakub Piotrowski cardiac arrhythmia and surgery

Overview

Udinese midfielder Jakub Piotrowski is nearing a return to competitive action following cardiac ablation surgery to treat atrial flutter. The procedure, performed in September at the Policlinico San Donato, required a period of monitoring and convalescence that sidelined him for approximately four weeks.

During his recovery, Piotrowski missed club fixtures against Inter Milan and Cagliari, as well as upcoming Poland national team Nations League matches. While a return for the match against Torino is considered unlikely, medical staff are monitoring his progress closely. He is currently close to receiving the necessary health clearance to resume training, with the home fixture against Lecce on October 18 serving as the current target for his reintegration. His return is expected to provide manager Kosta Runjaic with additional tactical depth and physicality in the midfield.
