Jalisco government leadership changes
Overview
Salvador Zamora Zamora resigned as Secretary General of Government in Jalisco, effective immediately. Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro accepted the resignation, stating that Zamora will focus on political tasks related to the 2027 electoral process for the Movimiento Ciudadano party.
To fill the vacancy, Governor Lemus appointed Carlos Arias Madrid, a lawyer with over 25 years of experience, as the new Secretary General. Following this transition, Luis Guillermo Félix Castro was named the new head of the State Tax Service (SET). This leadership shift occurs alongside discussions regarding water quality in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and a planned federal-state collaboration between President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Lemus to address water supply issues.
