Jambi police recruitment fraud investigation

Overview

Two police officers from the Jambi Regional Police Human Resources Bureau were detained for allegedly running a fraudulent recruitment scheme for the 2026 Bintara Polri selection. The suspects, identified as Briptu MD and Bripda Y, reportedly promised candidates guaranteed graduation in exchange for large cash payments.

An investigation by the Police Professional and Security Division and the Criminal Investigation Directorate identified at least 12 victims, including civilians and relatives of police personnel. Total reported losses amount to approximately Rp7.81 billion. Both officers are facing criminal prosecution and internal ethical reviews.
