In early July 2026, Jammu & Kashmir announced an acceleration of its green campus model and initiatives under the Urban Challenge Fund, signaling a push for sustainable campus infrastructure.

By early August, the Union Government detailed extensive central funding for the region. The Amended BharatNet programme upgraded 295 Gram Panchayats with 930 km of optical fibre to expand broadband. A Rs 106.70 crore allocation under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme aimed to electrify over 15,000 additional households, while the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 provided Rs 250 crore for urban water, sewerage and related works, of which Rs 163.73 crore had been spent. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana‑Urban completed 35,961 houses, with Rs 544 crore released from the Rs 734 crore approved. Additionally, SBI Life Insurance partnered with J&K Bank to distribute life‑insurance products through more than 1,000 branches, expanding financial services in the Union Territory.
