Japan’s 2026 summer and autumn seasons continue to feature a diverse array of regional craft and food festivals. In Tokyo, September events include the Oedo Beer Festival at Shinagawa Intercity S&R Plaza (Sept 1–5 and 8–12) and the Craft Beer Discovery at Tokyo Big Sight (Sept 25–27). The Koganei Beer Festival runs from Sept 11–13 at Festival Court. Additionally, the Craft Beer Grand Prix 2026 is held at Kinshi Park in Sumida from Sept 4–6, featuring 15 breweries and professional judging for a ‘highest gold award’. Participants include Yamanashi-based Fujizakura Kogen Beer, which offers varieties such as a Yoshida Udon Lager. In Kyoto, the Yase Eiden Station Local Beer Festival takes place Sept 4–6. New additions to the September schedule include the Keyaki Hiroba Autumn Beer Festival in Saitama New City from Sept 17–21, featuring 52 vendors and over 300 craft beer varieties. Notable participants include HOPJAPAN from Fukushima, Oyoroko Brewery from Aichi, and SIBEERIA BREWERY from Prague. In Yamagata, the ZAO BREWERY Autumn Beer Festival 2026 is scheduled for Sept 21–22 at Yamagin Kenmin Hall, showcasing seven craft beer types, including a special edition brewed with local passion fruit. Regional celebrations include the ‘Uminokuni Kusu (aged Awamori) Gratitude Festival’ in Okinawa on Sept 18–19, ‘KANPAI! GUNMA 2026’ on Sept 25–26, and the Minoh Beer Thanksgiving 2026 in Osaka on Sept 20–21.
