Late July 2026 saw the closure of the Minstop convenience store in Fuji City and the Ebari‑ya supermarket in Yokohama, both offering discount sales before shutting on 31 July. A broader announcement on 30 July added five おしゃれ洗濯じゃぶじゃぶ laundry‑chain outlets in Osaka and Hyōgo, the 千休 tea‑shop in Futako‑Tamagawa (closing 12 August), the indefinite suspension of the Courtyard Marriott Tokyo Tobu, BUBU MITSUOKA’s Tsukuba showroom (ending August), the たいらや grocery in Utsunomiya (31 August), the 修理クドウサービス repair shop in Hirosaki, and a summer pause for the Kawagoe deli 大手前 (1‑31 August). Early August brought food‑service closures: Dessert Kingdom, Sapporo Ramen Miso‑gen and Capricciosa in Tomakomai’s Aion Mall, and the Far East Kitchen café in Utsunomiya (2 August). Additionally, the TSUTAYA Abenobashi branch in the Tennoji area is scheduled to close on 4 October 2024, with rental services ending 27 September. Late August updates include the closure of the ‘Chuka Soba Ichi’ Mazesoba restaurant near Higashi-Omiya Station on 28 August.
