Japan railway disruptions and service issues
Overview
Heavy rainfall and typhoons caused significant disruptions to regional railway networks in Japan. In Chiba Prefecture, authorities abandoned efforts to restore the Kururi Line between Kururi and Kazusa-Kameyama stations, resulting in the permanent discontinuation of that section scheduled for April of the following year. While service on the Uchibo Line faced suspensions, some sections were scheduled to resume earlier than initially estimated.
Separate from the weather-related damage, JR West reported delays on the JR Kyoto and JR Kobe lines after a train detected an unusual noise, though inspections found no abnormalities. Additionally, strong winds caused a temporary suspension of service on the JR Kinokuni line between Kushimoto and Wakaura stations.
