Japanese camper‑van concepts showcase

Entities: Camper Atsugi · Jun Shimizu · Tokyo Big Sight · NutsRV · Nissan Motor Co.

Overview

In mid‑2026 Japan’s camper‑van market saw several fresh concepts at two national exhibitions. Nissan’s MYROOM line—Caravan MYROOM and NV200 Vanette MYROOM—was shown at the Tokyo Camping Car Show (July 11‑12) with a convertible 2‑in‑1 rear seat and wood‑grain interiors in the larger model. The show also hosted a partnership between longtime builder NutsRV and singer‑songwriter Jun Shimizu, unveiling the “Jokare” camper on a Fiat Ducato chassis, equipped with bike storage, wheelchair‑friendly access, an electric lift‑height roof and a full‑size bedroom. Nissan added a new 7‑seat “Grand Puppy Atlas SG” built on the Nissan Atlas platform, offering 2WD/4WD, a diesel turbo, FRP bodywork and a kitchen/dinette loft layout, priced from ¥12.9 million.

At the Tokyo Outdoor Show (June 26‑28), tuner Papa Mama Cars presented the US Mile Box and Mount Ace, heavily modified Toyota Probox/Succeed and Town Ace vans with front water‑tank grilles, raised suspension, rugged paint, vintage leather seats and built‑in sleeping platforms. Prices were ¥4.3 million and ¥5.1 million respectively, and a July 9 report later highlighted the brand’s Osaka and Kanagawa showrooms where interested buyers can view them.

Together, these unveilings illustrate a growing focus among Japanese manufacturers and aftermarket tuners on purpose‑built, flexible‑interior camper‑van solutions that blend urban drivability with outdoor capability.
