Japanese food industry seasonal promotions

Overview

Japanese food businesses have announced various seasonal promotions and menu launches for late August and autumn 2026.

Initial announcements included specific events such as Kitakata Ramen Sakauchi’s ‘Mega Chashu Festival’ and Hyakpo Ramen’s founding anniversary celebration in Toda City. Retailer Natural Pork Link also scheduled a meat clearance sale in Saitama Prefecture.

Following these announcements, ramen chains shifted focus toward seasonal autumn flavors. Mita Seimenjo introduced niboshi (dried sardine) flavored menus, including ‘Noko Niboshi Tsukemen’, while Yokohama Iekei Ramen Yamato-ya announced the return of its seasonal ‘Niboton’ ramen, which combines tonkotsu broth with niboshi.

Recent updates show an expansion of these promotional activities. Kitakata Ramen Sakauchi’s festival, running from September 1 to September 11, will feature high-volume items like ‘Mega Chashu Ramen’ with 24 slices of aged pork. Hyakpo Ramen’s anniversary event on September 12 and 13 will offer signature dishes at original founding prices.

Other dining promotions include Steak no Asakuma and the lamb specialty chain Ram-chan, both offering significant portion size increases for select meats through late August. Yakiniku no Watami is also running a campaign featuring discounted beef tongue and beer. In the hospitality sector, Kamenoi Hotel Tazawako will host an autumn buffet from September 1 through November 30, highlighting regional specialties such as Akita Hinai chicken and wild game. Retail sales continue with JA Town’s meat day sale on August 29 and Shabu-shabu Onya’s vegetable day campaign.
