Japanese sake festivals and tasting events
Overview
Japan is hosting several major sake-focused events and promotions in late 2026. Scheduled festivals include the “Nihonshu Fest 2026 in Mitsui Outlet Park Kisarazu” in November, which features 13 breweries, and the “Oishii SAKE Walk in Osaka 2026” in late October, connecting 30 breweries with local restaurants. Additionally, Tokyo will host “VintageSakeArt 2026” on October 24, focusing on aged sake varieties.
Complementing these festivals, Nihonshu Genka Sakagura, operated by Billion Foods, has announced a limited-time all-you-can-drink event in Tokyo. Running from October 10 to October 31 at its Ueno Okachimachi and Jimbocho locations, the 120-minute promotion is priced at 6,600 yen (including tax). Participants gain access to 46 varieties of sake, including rare brands such as Juyondai, Jikon, Denshu, Hiroki, Kon, and Aramasa. The event is limited to 36 guests per session via app reservation and requires ordering at least two food items per person.
Further events scheduled for November include “SAKE PARK” at MIYASHITA PARK in Shibuya, Tokyo, from November 13 to 15. This event aims to promote sake culture by gathering producers from Hokkaido to Nagasaki and features a “Music For SAKE” component with traditional folk music influences. In Yokohama, the KISSYO SELECT Kamiooka store will host “Meeting with Brewers and Sake” on November 28, featuring 50 varieties of sake from breweries such as Mutsu Hassen, Midorikawa, Mizubasho, Gangi, and Shichida, with special guests from the breweries expected to attend.
