Jazz music events in Dominican Republic and Chile

Throughout October, various jazz music events and festivals are scheduled across the Dominican Republic and Chile.

In the Dominican Republic, performances are set for Santo Domingo, Santiago, Sosúa, and Puerto Plata. These include ‘Los Lunes de Jazz’ in Santiago, ‘Live Jazz by the Sea’ in Sosúa, and the Sandy Gabriel Jazz Residence in Santo Domingo. Additionally, the ninth edition of the Restauración International Jazz Festival drew approximately 500 attendees, featuring musicians such as the Dominican singer Pirou, the Sebastián Murena Trío, and American pianist Bill O’Connell. The festival also honored contributors to the genre, including percussionist Guarionex Aquino, musician Geo Ripley, and the Corporación Estatal de Radio y Televisión (CERTV).

In Chile, the Antofajazzta festival returned to Antofagasta after a three-year hiatus. The month-long program included live music, masterclasses, and community meetings, featuring the Jazz Quartet, a masterclass by Rodrigo Carmona, and a closing performance by singer Antonella Cigala.
