Jewelry shop thefts in South Asia

Separate incidents of jewelry shop thefts were reported in Satkhira, Bangladesh, and Dhanbad, India.

In Satkhira, thieves entered ‘Ratna Jewellers’ by smashing through a rear wall. The owner reported the loss of various gold and silver items, including nose pins, rings, and necklaces, with a total estimated value of several hundred thousand BDT. Local police are investigating the incident.

In Dhanbad, perpetrators gained entry to a shop in the Duhataand area by cutting through a ventilation opening. The theft included approximately 50,000 rupees in cash alongside gold and silver jewelry. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
