Jiang Xueqin geopolitical forecasts

Jiang Xueqin, a Chinese academic and commentator known as the ‘Chinese Nostradamus’, has issued a series of geopolitical forecasts regarding the future of the United States and the international order.

Initially, Jiang argued that U.S. global dominance will gradually weaken, leading to a multipolar world where China, India, and other regional powers play larger roles. He utilizes a method he calls ‘psychohistory’ to derive these scenarios from historical analogies.

In recent forecasts for 2027, Jiang has expanded his predictions to include significant domestic and military instability within the United States. Speaking on the Jack Neal podcast, he suggested that the U.S. could face an economic collapse, widespread protests, and the possibility of civil war. He noted that the trajectory of these events may be set regardless of the outcomes of upcoming political elections.

A central component of his 2027 prediction involves a potential full-scale ground war in Iran. Jiang warned that such a conflict could become a prolonged engagement, potentially necessitating the reinstatement of a national military draft for men as young as 18 to sustain American forces. Regarding such a conflict, Jiang asserted there would be ‘absolutely no way’ for the United States to win.
