Following his August 12 brain shunt surgery in Norman, Oklahoma, Jim Ross has continued to provide updates on his recovery. While the procedure was intended to address memory and balance issues, Ross reported ongoing struggles with significant headaches and mobility. He noted a recent fall in his bedroom that resulted in a broken sentimental bench, stating he must move slowly to avoid the necessity of a walker. Ross’s recovery has been further complicated by a separate injury; he revealed that he broke two toes on his left foot on the morning of his brain surgery. He is currently utilizing a walking boot, which has impacted his balance and hindered physical therapy, increasing his risk of further falls. Ross has lost over 50 pounds following a month-long hospitalization in Oklahoma this summer. He is currently receiving home health care twice a week to monitor his vitals, blood sugar, and blood pressure. Additionally, a wound on his left ankle resulting from skin cancer and radiation treatments has not yet healed. Most recently, Ross underwent biopsies on seven or eight moles on his back following a dermatologist appointment; he expects results in approximately 10 days. Regarding other medical concerns, Ross noted that doctors believe a mass recently discovered on his kidney is not cancerous and should be easy to treat if necessary. ~~However, recent updates indicate that doctors are continuing to investigate~~ In late September, Ross expressed a ~~spot discovered on his kidney, and he is scheduled~~ goal to ~~see a specialist in~~ return to the AEW commentary desk for the All Out event on September 26, noting that the shorter travel distance from Oklahoma City to ~~determine if~~ Chicago made it ~~is cancerous. Furthermore,~~ more manageable than previous international travel. In October, Ross ~~reported experiencing debilitating, “blistering headaches”~~ was hospitalized for a chest infection that ~~frequently wake him in the middle of the night. While his skull surgical wound is healing, the shunt has required three adjustments without successfully alleviating~~ caused low oxygen levels. Following a CT scan that revealed bleeding, he underwent a second brain procedure on October 7 to address issues with the ~~pain.~~ shunt.
