Johan Ghazali and Diego Paez Muay Thai rematch
Overview
Johan ‘Jojo’ Ghazali was scheduled to face Diego Paez in a flyweight Muay Thai rematch at The Inner Circle 35, held at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium. The two had previously met in June 2025, where Paez won via split decision.
On October 16, 2026, the 19-year-old Malaysian-American fighter secured a unanimous decision victory over Paez in the co-main event of ONE Championship’s The Inner Circle 35. The win ended a two-fight losing streak for Ghazali. He attributed the improved performance to increased composure and precision, noting he was able to engage on his own terms rather than reacting to Paez’s high-output style, though he stated he was “not yet entirely satisfied” with the performance.
Following the victory, Ghazali addressed previous criticisms regarding his performance, stating that while some comments—particularly from his own community—were “hurtful,” he remained focused on his personal growth and faith. Looking ahead, Ghazali expressed interest in a rematch with Ramadan Ondash, citing dissatisfaction with the split-decision result of their previous meeting in July.
