Jon Rahm departure from LIV Golf

Overview

Professional golfer Jon Rahm has announced his departure from LIV Golf, describing the terms of the league’s proposed “LIV 2.0” relaunch as “unacceptable.” This decision follows LIV Golf’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in September, which was triggered by the withdrawal of financial support from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

By mid-October, Rahm reached a separation agreement with the league. Reports indicate the deal involves Rahm relinquishing a portion of his contract earnings, estimated at approximately £75 million ($100 million), in exchange for regaining his name, image, and likeness rights.

Amidst these professional transitions, Rahm also announced the birth of his fourth child, a daughter named Begoña Cahill Rahm.
