João Cancelo tactical role at FC Barcelona

Overview

João Cancelo has demonstrated high offensive form, leading to discussions regarding his tactical role at FC Barcelona. During a Champions League match against Galatasaray, Cancelo scored a goal after being utilized in an advanced role by manager Hansi Flick.

Following recent performances where he recorded four goals and one assist in his last eight appearances for club and country, Barcelona is considering utilizing him as a central attacker or a ‘false nine’. This tactical shift is being evaluated to maintain offensive pressure and creativity in the absence of Raphinha.
