Data released at the end of July 2026 showed João Pessoa accounted for 86 % of all formal jobs created in Paraíba during the first half of the year, adding 5,692 positions and ranking among the top capitals in Brazil for job growth. The city’s formal employment rose to 240,402 by June, outpacing national and regional averages.

A municipal public‑employment office subsequently announced 861 new vacancies across construction, production, sales and logistics, linked to the rollout of “micro‑city” neighbourhood clusters and related mobility projects.

The state’s Sistema Nacional de Emprego (Sine) confirmed a total of 2,346 job openings for the week of 3 August, with João Pessoa’s Sine centre listing the same 861 positions. The openings are concentrated in construction trades – 102 for pedreiro and 95 for servente de obras – as well as 51 auxiliary production‑line roles, 15 auxiliary production jobs and 20 sales‑assistant slots for university students. Listings remain open until 7 August and applicants must present identification, work documents and a résumé at the Sine office on Avenida João Suassuna.
