Overview

He accused the Israeli government of attempting to frame the conflict as a “war of religions” and urged the international community to support a two-state solution. He reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to the Hashemite Custodianship of holy sites in Jerusalem and continued support for UNRWA.

On the sidelines of the assembly, the King held bilateral meetings with Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides and Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg. Discussions with the Cypriot President focused on strengthening ties between Jordan and the European Union, as well as trilateral cooperation between Cyprus, Greece, and Jordan. The leaders also reviewed the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) as a means to enhance regional connectivity.
