The summer festival season in the Western Balkans ~~stayed vibrant through~~ continued into late July and early August 2026. In After the earlier programmes in Slovenia, ~~Ptuj opened its weekend cultural programme with a children’s music story, a macramé workshop, film screenings~~ Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, the seventh edition of *Minioni the Desant Festival opened on 30 July in Jajce, Bosnia‑and‑Herzegovina. The four‑day event combined traditional sevdalinka, world‑music, pop and monsters* electronic sets, with Damir Imamović and ~~the sci‑fi *Project Last Hope*,~~ Zanin Berbić opening, Austrian ensemble WIADAWÖ performing, pop star Severina headlining a ~~dark‑beer tasting and concerts featuring~~ concert beneath the ~~Grammy‑winning New York Voices~~ Pliva waterfall on 1 August, and ~~virtuoso violinist Luka Šulić. Croatia’s Pićan hosted the two‑day Šćorice~~ DJ Damjan Eltec closing on 2 August. Serbia’s Kosjerić ran its “Čobanski dani” cultural‑tourist gathering (24‑26 July), presenting a traditional singing contest, hand‑crafts exhibition, regional dishes, shepherd games is sponsored by Inova and backed by the ~~selection~~ Bosnian Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism. In Croatia, the ~~best shepherdess, with~~ historic reenactment Uskočki boj for Klis 2026 was staged at Klis Fortress, featuring nearly 200 participants from sister towns in Montenegro. The broader festival calendar across Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia continued to draw regional and Western‑European visitors, sustaining a diverse programme portraying the 16th‑century defence of Petar Kružić. Split’s cultural ~~exchange throughout~~ season saw continued opera programming, with Siniša Vuković highlighting performances of Aida and Nabucco on the ~~Balkan summer.~~ Peristil open‑air stage. The mobile literary‑audio project Hrvatski zvukopis held free events on Brač’s Bobovišća villages, and the Dujmovača theatre premiered the play Herscht 07769, directed by Ivica Buljan.
