Kaito Takahashi solo music debut and SALT BOY EP details
Overview
Kaito Takahashi, a member of the group King & Prince, launched a solo music project under the name ‘KAITO’. His debut digital single, ‘swim?’, reached number one on the Oricon Weekly Digital Single Ranking and surpassed 5 million views on its music video. The use of the name ‘KAITO’ previously caused social media friction due to hashtag overlap with the Vocaloid character of the same name, prompting a statement from Crypton Future Media.
Takahashi has announced his first solo EP, ‘SALT BOY’, scheduled for release on November 25, 2026. The sea-themed project features Takahashi as the writer and composer for all tracks, in addition to handling artwork and music video production. New details reveal the EP will contain seven tracks, including ‘THE FEVER’ (produced by UTA), ‘SHUNSOKU’ (a collaboration with BBY NABE), and ‘Jellyfish feat. Furui Riho’.
To support the release, Takahashi released behind-the-scenes footage titled ‘HOW TO ‘SWIM?’’ on his official YouTube channel, showcasing music video filming and recording sessions conducted in Malaysia. The limited edition CD of the EP will include a full music video making-of and a production documentary as bonus content. A series of launch events will be held in Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, and Tokyo, with King & Prince fan club members eligible for early reservation campaigns for online viewing of the Tokyo event.
