KEPCO smart appliance cashback pilot program
Overview
LG Electronics and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) initially signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a ‘Smart Appliance Cashback Pilot Project.’ The goal of the initiative is to stabilize the power supply by incentivizing the use of high-efficiency appliances during peak renewable energy generation periods.
Following the agreement, KEPCO launched the two-month pilot program, which runs from September 1 to October 31. The program offers a cashback of 100 KRW per 1kWh used between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. To participate, customers must be enrolled in the residential energy cashback program and apply through appliance platforms such as LG ThinQ or Samsung SmartThings.
