KHIDI international industry expansion initiatives

Overview

The Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) is implementing various initiatives to support the international expansion of South Korean health and beauty industries.

In the United States, KHIDI supported biohealth startups during Startup Boston Week, facilitating networking between twelve companies and local investors, accelerators, and government officials to explore the Boston biotech ecosystem. This follows the institute’s ongoing operation of the C&D Incubation Office in Cambridge since 2022.

In Vietnam, KHIDI is launching ‘WEEDY’, a permanent K-beauty retail hub in Ho Chi Minh City. Operating through late 2028, the facility is designed to help 17 Korean small and medium-sized cosmetics companies connect with local buyers through offline product experiences, online channels, and B2B consultations. KHIDI President Ko Sang-baek identified Vietnam as a “vital strategic hub” for accessing the wider ASEAN market.
