Kia's global electric vehicle expansion continues through diverse model rollouts and manufacturing investments. In Mexico, Kia has commenced production of the EV3 compact electric SUV at its Pesquería plant, marking the company’s first assembly of 100% electric vehicles in the country. In North America, the 2027 EV3 is being positioned as an affordable entry point, with prices starting at $29,890. In the U.S., Kia has announced updates for its 2027 lineup. The 2027 EV6 will maintain current pricing across all seven trims, with the base Light standard-range RWD model starting at $37,900. The 2027 EV9 will see minor adjustments, including a price increase for the Land trim to include the now-standard Nightfall Edition Package and a torque boost to 516 lb-ft. The EV2 is also expanding its offerings with a larger 61 kWh battery for improved range. Specific pricing for the 2027 EV9 has been detailed by Kia America, with models ranging from $56,635 for the Light Short Range trim to $73,635 for the top-tier GT-Line. The Light Long Range variant is priced at $59,635, while the Wind and Land trims are set at $65,735 and $71,635, respectively. These updates follow a strong performance for Kia America, which reported its best September to date with 77,000 deliveries, an 18% increase. Total sales for the year have reached 667,386 units, positioning the manufacturer to set a new annual record. Performance and sustainability evaluations remain central to the rollout. The Kia EV4 has earned a five-star rating from the 2026 Green NCAP evaluation, achieving a 90% sustainability score. The Earth version, with an 81.4 kWh battery, recorded a certified range of 625 km and a consumption rate of 13.9 kWh/100 km during summer testing. The EV4 received high marks for greenhouse gas emissions (9.5/10), energy efficiency (8.9), and clean air (8.8). As Kia moves toward a diverse range of seven different electric models, its global electric vehicle sales have surpassed one million units.
