Hyundai Motor Group showcased has demonstrated the capabilities practical applications of the Kia PV5 WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) through a its ‘Green Trip’ social contribution project. A video titled "The ‘The Moving Room." The video documented Room’ showcased a trip taken by Kim On-yu, a man who had been hospitalized for 23 years, allowing him to travel to the seaside with his family. The PV5 WAV, an electric multi-purpose vehicle, features specific adaptations for mobility-impaired users, including side-sliding doors for sidewalk boarding, an integrated wheelchair slope capable of supporting 300kg, and vehicle’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology to power enabled the operation of essential medical equipment equipment, such as oxygen generators. The journey was part of Kia's "Green Travel" social contribution project. Following generators, during the release, public feedback indicated strong interest in using journey. Kia has transitioned the PV5 WAV from a demonstration model to a production vehicle using a ‘Made-In-Plant’ strategy, where accessible versions are developed and manufactured directly within Kia’s own facilities rather than through third-party conversions. This electric minibus is designed for medical, educational, both private and travel purposes. commercial use and is available through standard dealerships. Technical specifications include a two-stage telescopic side ramp integrated into a subfloor, which allows for direct boarding from sidewalks with an adjustable incline. The interior configuration accommodates a wheelchair in the second-row space while providing seating for an accompanying person and a third row. The vehicle offers two battery options—51.5 kWh and 71.2 kWh—providing a driving range of up to 391 kilometers.
