Knights law firm regional acquisitions

Overview

Law firm Knights has undertaken a series of acquisitions to expand its presence in various English regional markets.

In mid-August 2026, Knights announced the £4 million acquisition of Thames Valley-based THP Solicitors. The deal, expected to complete by late September 2026, involves an upfront cash payment of £2.4 million with the remainder paid in annual instalments. The move will see approximately 30 fee-earners relocate to Knights’ Reading office, while THP’s existing offices in Reading and Henley will close. CEO David Beech described the acquisition as a “compelling bolt-on” for the firm’s regional offering.

Shortly after, Knights agreed to a larger £27 million acquisition of the commercial and private wealth service lines of Moore Barlow LLP. This transaction aims to increase scale in the south east and south central markets of England. The deal integrates Moore Barlow’s real estate, private wealth, landed estates, schools, and charities teams into the Knights platform, while Moore Barlow’s personal injury, clinical negligence, and Court of Protection services are to be sold separately.
