Koh-Lanta All Stars 25th anniversary programming

Overview

TF1 has launched ‘Koh-Lanta All Stars’, a special edition of the adventure reality series celebrating its 25th anniversary. Filmed in the Las Perlas archipelago in Panama, the 34th season features eighteen former contestants competing in pairs under a ‘destins liés’ (linked fates) mechanic, where the elimination of one partner results in the automatic removal of the other.

Following the premiere, which drew approximately 2.84 million viewers, the second episode aired on September 1, 2026. In this installment, contestants Dorian and Lola secured a totem by winning a comfort game and the immunity challenge, with Dorian also discovering an immunity necklace. During the tribal council, Moussa and Nawell were voted out, though they were granted a chance to re-enter the competition via the ‘island of the banished’. This second episode attracted an average of 2.74 million viewers, representing a 16.7% market share among viewers aged four and older.

To commemorate the anniversary, TF1 scheduled a daily five-minute segment starting September 7 to showcase historical highlights from the series. Additionally, a promotional partnership with Waze titled ‘L’Épreuve des Routes’ was launched, featuring a six-month navigation mode where host Denis Brogniart provides survivalist-themed voice directions. Host Denis Brogniart, who has led the program for 25 years, noted that the All-Star format increases the show's credibility as contestants act as ambassadors for the series while facing heightened levels of hunger and stress.

As the anniversary season progresses, the program’s history has brought renewed attention to past production controversies. These include the 2013 death of contestant Gérald Babin in Cambodia, which led to an investigation into involuntary homicide, the suicide of the show’s resident doctor, and various allegations of sexual assault and death threats over the last quarter-century.
