The Konya Metropolitan Municipality has ~~initiated several~~ expanded its educational and social development ~~projects.~~ initiatives through infrastructure projects, specialized support, and financial aid. In the Selçuklu district, officials broke ground on a new complex in the Akademi ~~neighborhood, which will include~~ neighborhood. This project includes the Bilgehane and the Lise Medeniyet Akademisi ~~(LİMA)~~ (LİMA), alongside social facilities intended to serve ~~a growing population. Additionally,~~ the Ardıçlı TOKİ housing area. Local leaders noted that the neighborhood is one of Konya’s fastest-growing regions, with the population expected to rise from approximately 20,000 to nearly 40,000 following new housing deliveries. To support students with special needs, the municipality partnered with the Ministry of National Education to ~~provide~~ distribute specialized educational materials to 120 ~~special education~~ institutions. This collaborative ~~project aims~~ effort provides 97 boxes of materials to ~~support~~ 2,135 ~~students with special needs, facilitating their~~ students, aiming to facilitate social integration and daily independence. Additionally, Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay announced a new aid program for undergraduate students from low-income families residing in Konya. Eligible students attending state universities, or those at private universities on a 100% full scholarship, can apply for a total of 15,000 Turkish Lira, provided in monthly installments of 5,000 Lira over a three-month period.
