KOWR management of Polish agricultural and historic land

The National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) manages agricultural land and historic properties in Poland through specific legal and auction-based frameworks.

Under current regulations, KOWR maintains a right of first refusal on certain agricultural land sales. This process requires a two-stage procedure where a conditional sales agreement is signed, followed by a one-month period during which KOWR evaluates whether to exercise its right to purchase the property based on its condition and local market demand.

In addition to standard land sales, KOWR manages approximately 3,700 historic objects held within the State Treasury's Agricultural Property Resource. For 2025, KOWR has announced the auction of 120 historic properties, including palaces and manors. These assets are managed through sales, leases for commercial purposes such as hotels, or transfers to local governments, with significant concentrations of protected monuments located in the Lower Silesian, Warmian-Masurian, Greater Poland, and West Pomeranian voivodeships.
