The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating alleged bribery and corruption within Indonesia's Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN). The probe follows a sting operation on September 14, 2026, involving the management of Building Use Rights (HGB) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor, West Java. During the operation, the KPK detained 19 individuals and seized approximately Rp106.3 billion in various currencies. Eight suspects have been named, including Lampri (Director General of Land and Spatial Control and Order), Sontang Coin Manurung (Head of the Bogor I Land Office), and Adrianto Pitojo Adhi (President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk). Four suspects—Arif Sugiyanto, Fahd El Fouz, Erwin, and Muhammad Fakhry—are allegedly close associates of Minister Nusron Wahid. Following searches at PT Summarecon offices and ministry directorates, investigators searched the Mojokerto City National Land Agency (BPN) on September 23 and the East Java ATR/BPN Regional Office in Surabaya on September 24, 2026. By early October 2026, the investigation expanded to include allegations of illegal payments flowing from regional land offices (Kantah) to the central Ministry. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that investigators are examining whether these funds are linked to official rotations, mutations, or promotions. Addressing previous scrutiny regarding delays in his involvement, Minister Nusron Wahid has been scheduled to appear before the KPK as a witness on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Investigators continue to trace seized funds to determine if they were used to fund the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Muktamar. On October 12, 2026, the KPK seized a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to suspect Arif Sugiyanto, the former Regent of Kebumen. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated the vehicle was allegedly used to facilitate the collection of hundreds of billions of rupiah in illicit funds related to the bribery scandal.
