La Granja VIP 2: Ongoing controversies and eliminations

Overview

The second season of ‘La Granja VIP’ has been defined by intense interpersonal conflicts, physical altercations, and disciplinary issues.

A major controversy erupted on October 14 when participant Pimpinela Escarlata threatened to use a knife to “disfigure Manelyk González's face for the rest of her life” if he were eliminated. This sparked widespread public indignation and calls for his expulsion, though TV Azteca has not announced official sanctions. Other physical tension occurred when Azalia Ojeda struck Kevyn ‘Bicolor’ Contreras in a dressing room, leading to viewer demands for her removal.

Internal dynamics have been marked by frequent verbal confrontations, including clashes between Niurka Marcos and Manelyk González, and disputes involving influencer Kunno. Strategic gameplay, such as the ‘betrayal’ dynamics and the ‘burial’ rule, has frequently shifted nomination lists. The production also intercepted a cheating attempt involving laminated messages hidden in a body cream jar intended for Fernando Lozano.

As the competition approaches its seventh elimination gala on October 25, nominees include Azalia Ojeda, Manelyk González, Kunno, Natalia Alcocer, and Rafael Mercadante. Recent tensions involve a production sanction for Ojeda following a verbal altercation, and social media accusations against González regarding her treatment of ‘Tlacoyo’, a rescued dog featured on the show.
