La Sexta premiere of Congelados game show
Overview
The Spanish television channel La Sexta premiered ‘Congelados’, a new prime-time game show hosted by Ángel Llácer and Raquel Sánchez Silva. Produced by Fremantle, the program is an adaptation of the Japanese format ‘Freeze’ and tasks celebrities with remaining motionless to test their physical resistance and self-control.
Participants compete in various elimination rounds to win a 3,000 euro prize for a charitable cause. Following the premiere, the program faced criticism from reviewers who described certain challenges—including the use of simulated waste or placing heads in containers of insects—as “distasteful and regressive for modern television.”
