Liverpool and Chelsea competing for Lamine Camara reportedly agrees personal terms with much-s理论
Chelsea reached an agreement in principle to sign Senegal international Lamine Camara from AS Monaco for approximately €55m (£47m). The 22-year-old midfielder was expected to sign a six-year contract, including an option for an additional year, to bolster Chelsea’s midfield ahead of Enzo Fernandez’s anticipated £125m move to Manchester City. However, the deal collapsed after the transfer deadline when Monaco withdrew from the completed agreement. Despite a full written club-to-club agreement being in place and medical examinations being in progress, Monaco reversed their decision after successfully renegotiating the transfer of Folarin Balogun to Everton, rendering the sale of Camara no longer necessary for the French club. Chelsea officials expressed fury at the reversal, describing Monaco’s conduct as “extraordinary” and “deeply unprofessional.” Following the failed move, Liverpool FC has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Camara. The Senegalese international is said to have agreed to a five-year contract ahead of a potential move to Anfield in January. This development follows interest from Liverpool scouts who attended Monaco’s 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain, a match in which Camara recorded high performance metrics, including winning 12 duels and completing 92% of his passes. Competition for the player has intensified, with reports suggesting Liverpool and Chelsea may once again compete for his services. Liverpool views Camara, who is currently under contract with Monaco until June 2029, as a key target to strengthen their midfield and potentially serve as a successor should Alexis Mac Allister depart. Liverpool is expected to make a formal move for the player, who is now valued at approximately €70m, to bolster their defensive midfield options. during the January transfer window.
