LATAM expands fleet with Embraer E195‑E2 E195-E2 jets

LATAM Airlines Group is proceeding with its fleet renewal by introducing Embraer E195‑E2 E195-E2 jets. The first aircraft are slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026, with up to 14 entering service by March 2027. The 136‑seat, 2‑2‑configured 136-seat, 2-2-configured jets will carry Premium Economy and Economy cabins, feature USB‑C USB-C power, satellite‑based Wi‑Fi satellite-based Wi-Fi and a streaming entertainment platform, and will be operated by LATAM Airlines Brasil on 42 domestic routes. The rollout creates four new base cities – Cabo Frio, Ji‑Paraná, Ji-Paraná, Macaé and Rondonópolis – expanding LATAM’s domestic network to 67 destinations, the widest coverage in its history. New scheduled services include Guarulhos–Cabo Frio, Guarulhos–Ji‑Paraná Guarulhos–Ji-Paraná and Guarulhos–Rondonópolis from December 2026, and Guarulhos–Macaé from February 2027, with ticket sales opening in early August 2026. Additional frequency increases are planned on existing routes such as Guarulhos–Palmas and Guarulhos–Cascavel. The initial rollout will also include new links to Ribeirão Preto, Londrina, Cuiabá and Viracopos. LATAM has ordered 24 E195‑E2 E195-E2 jets, with options for up to 50 more, in a deal valued at roughly US$2.1 billion. CEO Jerome Cadier hinted at a possible second phase in 2027 that could add up to 18 further destinations. Notably, US$400 million of this financing is structured as a 20‑25% reduction sustainability-linked loan, providing interest rate incentives tied to the airline’s performance in fuel burn and CO₂ emissions, reducing CO2 emissions intensity.
