Latin American academic and institutional research

Academic research across Latin America continues to address diverse legal, medical, and social institutional topics.

In Ecuador, studies have examined the legal tensions between the Constitutional Court’s oversight and the National Electoral Council’s regulatory powers. Medical research has tracked surgical scientific production and, more recently, analyzed the prevalence of dengue shock in pediatric patients at the Teodoro Maldonado Carbo Specialties Hospital, finding a 64.8% prevalence between 2020 and 2025. Institutional management efforts include a strategic plan for the 2027 Clásica Internacional de los Andes and research into human talent management in Guayaquil’s industrial sector, which suggests business administration profiles are most effective for strategic leadership. Research regarding gender and business continues to note that women face greater difficulties in accessing credit and support networks compared to male-led companies. Efforts also continue to systematize educational practices in bilingual intercultural communities.

In Peru, research has investigated burnout syndrome among nursing professionals, the relationship between logistical processes and administrative efficiency within the Municipalidad Provincial de Lauricocha, and the connection between state procurement management and the fulfillment of public works in the Pasco Regional Government.

Other regional studies include environmental pollution awareness within the Kichwa nation and an analysis in Argentina regarding the tension between intellectual property rights and the right to education, specifically regarding challenges faced by educators during the shift to virtual learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
