By late September, Latvia continued to experience significant rainfall, with most observation stations exceeding monthly precipitation norms. The Priekuļi station recorded a high of 156.3 mm. The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre reported that active cyclone activity would continue to influence the weather, bringing widespread precipitation, potential thunderstorms, and gusty winds of 15–17 m/s in coastal areas. As of early October, Latvia is preparing for further unsettled weather as a large cyclone approaches from the northwest. A new strong cyclone is expected to bring severe weather to Latvia on Friday, October 9. Forecasters predict ~~a transition from dry conditions to overcast skies with intermittent rain and drizzle.
