Legacy of Dolly Parton following her death

Following the death of country music icon Dolly Parton at age 80, family and colleagues have shared reflections on her life and persona.

Her sister, Stella Parton, noted the singer’s dedication to her signature glamorous image, stating that Dolly often maintained her makeup and grooming even in private settings. Stella remarked that without her characteristic wigs and makeup, Dolly looked much like herself.

Miley Cyrus, who identified Parton as her godmother, has expanded on their professional and personal bond. In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe following the release of her album ‘Bass Persuades’, Cyrus discussed how Parton provided guidance on balancing a public persona with authenticity. Cyrus recalled a specific instance where Parton advised her on managing emotions during live performances, suggesting that music serves as escapism after witnessing Cyrus cry during a performance of ‘End of the World’. Cyrus also noted that their final conversation centered on her latest musical project.

In a separate tribute, Queen Latifah recalled Parton’s warmth and professional discipline, noting her habit of writing songs daily and her hospitality, such as preparing homemade meals for colleagues.
