Wu Tzu-chia, chairman of Formosa Electronic News, has initiated several legal actions in Taiwan involving high-profile political and business figures. In early September 2026, Wu filed a criminal complaint at the Taipei District Prosecutors Office regarding a land development deal in Zhudong, Hsinchu County. The complaint names five individuals, including Yingde Group Chairman Yeh Li-cheng and former Hsinchu County Magistrate Cheng Yung-chin. Wu alleges that a NT$180 million payment may have been a disguised share of development profits intended to circumvent the Tax Collection Act, noting extreme discrepancies in land transaction prices in the area. Shortly thereafter, Wu filed additional criminal complaints against nine individuals, including Taiwan People's Party (TPP) founders Ko Wen-je and Huang Kuo-chang.
