Legal dispute involving Abelito's birthday party

Overview

A birthday celebration for Mexican influencer Abel Sáenz, known as Abelito, has resulted in legal and social controversy following incidents at a Mexico City nightclub. Social media footage captured physical altercations between influencers Naim Darrechi and Aarón Mercury, while Abelito expressed disapproval regarding the behavior of uninvited guests.

The situation escalated when Cristina Romero Álvarez, Abelito’s mother, announced legal action following alleged sexual assault. She claimed she was subjected to non-consensual touching by Naim Darrechi, Agustín Fernández, and an unidentified individual. While Fernández and Darrechi issued public apologies, Darrechi’s statements regarding consent were contested by the victim’s legal representation.

Following the dispute, Darrechi drew criticism for mocking the proceedings on social media, stating, ‘it is not that serious what happened.’ Although observers speculated he was fleeing to avoid accountability, Darrechi claimed he was leaving Mexico to begin a ‘world tour’ project, eventually traveling to Argentina.
