Legal investigations into Raúl Rocha Cantú

Overview

Raúl Rocha Cantú, a Mexican businessman and majority shareholder of the Miss Universe franchise, is the subject of multiple arrest warrants in Mexico.

A recent warrant issued by the Federal Prosecutor's Office (FGR) stems from a Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) investigation into an alleged money-laundering scheme involving various companies, bank accounts, and real estate acquisitions. This investigation is distinct from a 2025 case involving allegations of organized crime, arms trafficking, and fuel smuggling.

The UIF investigation, originating from a December 2, 2025, complaint, identifies Rocha Cantú as the principal beneficiary and operator of a scheme involving the acquisition of properties worth approximately 7 million pesos and the use of about 500 bank accounts. Two other businessmen, Andrés Javier Vázquez Ruiz and Alberto Charlan Salazar, are also named in the probe.

Following the revocation of his collaborator status after he failed to appear before investigators, Rocha Cantú remains a fugitive. He was recently filmed walking through Monte Carlo, Monaco, despite the active capture orders issued by Mexican authorities.
