Legal proceedings against Senegalese influencers
Overview
The legal proceedings against several Senegalese content creators began with the police custody of Rokhaya Fall, known as ‘Rox la Chancelière’, along with two others, Jessica and Narou. The detention followed an investigation by the Special Cybersecurity Division into cross-complaints involving allegations of death threats and prostitution.
Following the investigation, the Pikine-Guédiawaye court sentenced four TikTok influencers to prison terms. Rokhaya Fall received two years, including six months of firm imprisonment, and was ordered to pay 2 million CFA francs in damages. Khadidiatou Kébé (‘Jessica’) and Nafissatou Fall (‘Narou Karma’) also received prison sentences, while Ramatoulaye Diallo (‘Ramz Yago’) was sentenced to two years with one month firm. The convictions included charges of criminal association and speech contrary to public morals.
