Libya meteorological temperature trends
Overview
The National Meteorological Center has issued weather forecasts for Libya indicating periods of rising temperatures. In mid-September, western regions from Ras Ajdir to Sirte, including the Jafara Plain and Nafusa Mountains, were expected to see maximum temperatures between 35 and 41 degrees Celsius. During that period, southern regions such as Sabha, Ghat, and Ghadames were also forecasted to reach between 38 and 41 degrees Celsius.
By early October, forecasts indicated generally stable conditions with a slight increase in daytime temperatures across western regions. In the areas from Ras Ajdir to Sirte, maximum temperatures were expected to range between 29 and 35 degrees Celsius. Southern and interior regions, including Sabha, Ghat, and Ghadames, were projected to see maximum temperatures between 30 and 34 degrees Celsius. Both reports noted subsequent expectations of declining temperatures and increased cloud cover.
