Lincoln luxury vehicle development and redesigns

Overview

Lincoln is expanding its luxury vehicle lineup through new model development and redesigns. Initial reports indicated plans for a premium off-road SUV based on the Ford Bronco platform, intended to compete with luxury rivals like the Mercedes-G and Land Rover Defender. This model may feature hybrid or extended-range electric powertrains and could eventually replace the Corsair crossover.

Regarding the mid-size luxury SUV segment, Lincoln has introduced a mid-cycle refresh for the second-generation Nautilus with the 2027 model. The redesign features a more prominent, wider grille, a redesigned hood, and an entirely new front bumper to create a streamlined appearance. Exterior updates also include new headlights, a more aggressive rear bumper, and taillights that utilize two light strips instead of one. The vehicle offers updated wheel designs ranging from 19 to 22 inches and the removal of faux exhaust tips. New color options include ‘Nocturnal Blue’ and an exclusive ‘Frosted Fig’ purple for the Black Label trim.

The interior retains the signature 48-inch panoramic digital display and includes standard connectivity features such as embedded Google apps and four years of BlueCruise 1.5. For the Black Label trim, the brand introduced new interior themes: ‘Eminent Hour,’ which utilizes copper-toned ash wood, and ‘Elysian Light,’ featuring soft cloud leather with blue accents. The Premiere and Reserve trims also gain access to the ‘Afterglow’ theme and lighter ambient lighting. Mechanical options consist of a 250-hp turbocharged inline-four engine and a 285-hp hybrid powertrain, the latter of which is noted for providing a ‘smoother and punchier driving experience.’

The Nautilus remains the brand’s best-selling model and is produced in China for the U.S. market. The 2027 model is currently available for order, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.
