Lithuanian agricultural development funding

Overview

Lithuania has allocated 10 million euros, funded by the European Union and the national budget, to support short food supply chains (SFSC) as part of its 2023–2027 strategic plan for agricultural and rural development.

The Ministry of Agriculture is updating support rules to encourage farmer cooperation. Support intensity for business plan expenses will increase from 40 percent to 60 percent. Higher rates are available for specific groups, including up to 80 percent for projects involving only young farmers and up to 85 percent for projects consisting entirely of very small farms.

Applications for these funds, which can be used for specialized equipment like mobile slaughterhouses or harvesting machinery, are scheduled to open in November.
